![]() ![]() I just want to be able to snip and cut sections I want from existing files recorded by media center. ![]() Since my TV recordings are full HD their sizes are large, generally in the 3-4GB area. That the audio lag gets longer depending on the file size. The lag remains a fixed time amount, not a gradually increaasing thing as I have seen some post who are importing from cameras. (a legit purchased copy not a bootleg). All my drivers are up to date, I have all the latest windows updates. An nVidia GTS450 with 1GB dedicated vRam handles the video cards duties. *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, 16GB ddr3, with 2 x 500GB SSD 6Gb/sec drives in RAID-0 (stripe) so I get blistering HDD access speeds. I'll get ahead of the 'your hardware is slow' crowd and say I have a smoking fast PC. WTV back to DVR.ms format like prior MediaĬenter recordings but same result. Playback in Media Player is also flawless. My recordings are flawlessīut if it try to import a recorded show into movie maker, the audio gets lagged by over a second. I use my PC as a whole-home DVR and have a digital cable tuner with CableCard to capture digital Full-HD Shows and such. I would like to use Movie Maker to make simple cut - edits to files recorded with Windows 7 Media Center. This is a form of latency to my knowledge, and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.Hi. I am also wondering why it is that the keyword "latency" shows almost no hits here. (using AC97 for that) - S0nar allows for this and is an essential tool for getting optimal results in a profesional setting. Now, I haven't bothered to try disabling my onboard audio, but, perhaps SF should have an option to DISABLE audio card DRIVERS that you don't want to use if indeed my on board audio is the cause behind this latency. ![]() but others I am sure use this tool for a bit more, and this problem (which has no documentation either on this site or in the app itself) must be troubling to others. Luckily I only use sf for mastering and cuts. also, changes I make on the plug in real time also do not get reflected until about 1 second after I apply the changes. again, this is when using RealTime preview mode of a plug. ![]() the pluggin VU's however are about 1 second ahead of the VU's shown in soundforge. As I noted, the Vu Meters of various pluggins from either native sonic foundry plugs, or third party (makes no difference) are showing levels b4 the actual main soundforge app does, and as it should considering the audio path should run through the pluggin b4 it hits the main outs. Perhaps Latency isn't exactly what it is I am experiencing. Actually in a perfect world I'd have the cash to afford a second computer that was for audio production only. Besides, it causes no conflicts or latency issues in other professional audio software packages. In a perfect world I would disable my onboard audio, however it provides a good source of consumer based dac monitoring. ![]()
